Who we are
PrinterErrors.org is an independent printer-troubleshooting resource. This policy explains what limited data we process and why. We do not sell personal data.
What we collect
The site is a static website and does not require an account. We do not ask for names, emails or payment details to browse. If you contact us, we receive only what you send us (for example your email address and message).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages help visitors. Neither loads until you allow “Analytics” in the cookie notice: until then the site makes no analytics request to Google. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell repeat visits apart. Google processes this data as our provider and explains how at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
No advertising cookies without your consent
Until you allow “Advertising” in the cookie notice, our pages request no ads from Google, and if you refuse they keep it that way, so no advertising cookies are set. The AdSense script is still downloaded from Google’s servers on the pages that carry it (not on this policy or the cookie policy), so Google receives your IP address as with any file loaded from a third party, but while ad requests are paused it sets no new cookies. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google requires consent through a Google-certified consent platform; when that message is active on this site it will replace our own notice.
Opting out of personalised ads
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google’s Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), and opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info. You can also change or withdraw your consent at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Data retention & security
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to answer them. We use reasonable technical measures (HTTPS, restricted access) to protect any data we process.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
