Sources & Methodology

Last updated

Source priority

We prefer, in order: the model’s official manual, the manufacturer’s official support and knowledge base, reputable technical references (such as iFixit), and specialist trade sources only as secondary support.

Verification

For every published code we keep at least one reliable source, note the models it applies to, and flag where a code’s meaning changes by model. We avoid extrapolating one model’s code to a whole brand.

Safety filtering

We do not publish suspicious firmware tools, unofficial drivers, chip bypasses or dangerous disassembly methods. We distinguish a safe user fix from an internal repair, and link to official support for service.

What we exclude

If a fact cannot be verified, we do not publish it; it stays in our backlog until a reliable source is found. Sample entries are clearly labelled and kept out of search indexing.
